A house becomes a home when individuality, personality, and heart are incorporated into a space, creating a sanctuary in which to make lifelong memories. But even the most design-savvy homeowners can use help in bringing their vision into reality. Here, a look at how the experts at Nativa Interiors worked with one busy Solana Beach couple to translate their style into a place that is uniquely their own.

Nativa Interiors entryway“The approach I took with this power couple was to bring in a coastal, sophisticated, and livable look,” says Lori Bertran, ASID, senior interior designer at Nativa Interiors. “I achieved this by incorporating shades of soothing aqua, sea glass, soft blues, and grays, as well as sandy, washed ivory tones, and a mix of glitz with a few silver touches peeking in and out.”

Bertran’s fashion-forward clients entrusted her to guide the way, and after getting to know their lifestyle, it became clear that “a posh place with a sophisticated but inviting feel” would be their desired haven, Bertran says. Blues in every hue and smooth sea stones bring the ocean in, while mirrored and muted silver elements elevate the spaces throughout. “The sparkling personality of my clients is reflected in the crystal lighting fixtures, as well as in the metallics sprinkled in amongst the artwork and accessories,” she explains.

Of the many custom pieces created by Nativa Interiors, Bertran points out the coffee table and consoles in custom finishes, as well as sofas in soft, luxurious, couture fabrics. Additional key pieces include a lacquered horn and Lucite desk, silver leaf night chests, and handmade silk and fine grass cloth wallpapers in the master bedroom and office. nativainteriors.com   Mia Park
