Editors’ Pick, Best Farmers Market: La Jolla Open Aire Market When the La Jolla Open Aire Market was founded 20 years ago by Sherry Ahern, a then-parent volunteer at La Jolla Elementary School, it initially offered 14 farmers and two artisans. Today, it boasts 150 to 200 vendors each week, including 65+ farmers. Attached to a two-acre field and open Sundays from 9am-1:30pm, festivities include live music, a food court, full-time masseuses, complimentary dog sitting, and more.
