To kick off the San Diego Police Foundation’s 20th anniversary year, the organization is hosting a special edition of its signature event showcasing leadership and diversity. The event will celebrate the future generation of women in blue, with the Pledge of Allegiance led by a young School Safety Patrol leader, the National Anthem delivered by a young diva, and the scholarship award given to an aspiring leader in public safety. The SDPF will also mark the eighth year of Women in Blue by presenting a Lifetime Achievement Award to Chief Shelley Zimmerman as she completes 35 years of service at the San Diego Police Department. 619.232.2130, sdpolicefoundation.org/events/women-in-blue
