The Charity Ball is the crème de la crème of San Diego social events. Since the first Charity Ball in 1909, this elegant black-tie party has woven together many threads of this wonderful area, telling stories of multi-generational families, of philanthropies, medical services, human bravery, scientific inquiry, and, yes, the beauty of community. The 2016 Charity Ball honors Evelyn and Ernest Rady and is themed “Heart of Gold,” with proceeds directed to the Crisis Stabilization Unit at Rady Children’s hospital-San Diego. Guests will dine in the magnificent wood-paneled Crown Room of the Hotel Del Coronado, an experience so memorable it is fondly revisited in our minds many times.
