Green Homes Tour
San Diego Green Building Council hosts its Green Homes Tour Sunday, November 9, from 11am–4pm. The tour boasts a variety of green home examples, including newly constructed multi-family complexes, older beach cottage renovations, modern homes built with straw bales, and more. Participants can visit as many or as few of the homes as they’d like, and can speak with the homeowners, builders, designers, and architects about the green choices they’ve made and why. California has been making great efforts in creating sustainable homes through natural building and green construction techniques. Additionally, new techniques have also surfaced with constructing greener furniture. At the beginning of 2014, California began to make efforts in removing the requirement for fire retardant fillers in furniture, which could be a cause of toxins within a household.
I think it is great that there will be a showcase of these types of homes and definitely worth checking out. Thanks so much for sharing!
