Red Carpet-Worthy In The Ranch

Published

Martin Katz bejewels A-listers including Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, and Sharon Stone, and his eye-catching pieces are photographed on red carpets at the Oscars and the Emmys, as well as around the globe. Katz’s vintage-inspired masterpieces have made their way to Rancho Santa Fe, with a showroom masterfully helmed by managing director John Matty, a longtime friend of Katz, and manager Melissa Wilkins Braun.

Wrapping up their second year in the heart of the Ranch, Matty and Braun source top-tier stones worldwide and are dedicated to offering San Diego’s finest jewelry experience, as well as a behind-the-scenes approach, which is appreciated by San Diego’s affluent and well-heeled fashionistas.

“Our clients come to us for that perfect gift, or for help with their estate jewelry, as well as transforming their existing jewelry into a modern work of art,” Matty explains.

But it’s not all glitz and glam — giving back to the community through philanthropy is also a prime focus for Matty, who donates top-tier pieces to charitable events around town, greatly contributing to selected nonprofits’ bottom line. Pro Kids, which challenges underserved youth to excel in life by promoting character development, life skills, and values through education and the game of golf; Promises2Kids; Kids Korps USA; the Rancho Santa Fe Community Center; and the Rancho Santa Fe Little League are just a few of the many who have benefitted from Matty’s generosity.
