From shades of green to cherry red lips, Neiman Marcus showed off its top trends for fall recently at Fashion Valley. Style advisor Alex Yanez demonstrated the must-have looks for the season:

 

Mixed Greens:  A range of hues — mint, moss, malachite — whether worn solo or together, gives your wardrobe a fresh look.

 

The Jacket: this season’s modern staple tops just about anything. Try tuxedo looks or a dinner jacket tossed over your shoulder.

 

The Smoking Slipper: From velvet to animal print, “the luxury loafer,” says NM, “is flat-out chic.”

 

The Leather Leg: Whether second-skin sexy, or cut like a trouser, “leather has legs.”

 

Navy Is The New Neutral: And get this — it’s OK to mix it with black. In fact, black-and-blue combinations are big for fall.

 

The Statement Handbag: Arm yourself with big, bold, and embellished bags that send a “stylish message.”

 

Borrowed From The Boys: Menswear pieces, such as cardigans and vests, are “tailor-made for her.”

 

Digital Prints: No prim patterns here. These prints have been made modern, as tech meets textile.

 

Brooches: Add one for newness, NM advises. Cluster several for drama. We say more is more.
