Published

The third annual Stroll & Roll for Wheelchair Sports event will be held on Sunday, May 20, at Liberty Station NTC Park in the Point Loma neighborhood. For the first time ever the San Diego Adaptive Sports Foundation is co-hosting the event with local nonprofit HeadNorth, an organization dedicated to supporting people and families that have been affected by spinal cord injuries.

The event will begin with a 2k walk or stroll through beautiful NTC Park followed by breakfast, demonstrations, and a vendor fair. San Diego Adaptive Sports Foundation wheelchair athletes will show off their skills in sports including demonstrations of basketball, rugby, and hand-cycling. Anyone attending is welcome to try out any of the sports featured at the event. It’s an excellent opportunity to try something new and learn all about adaptive sports. There is no fee to attend and everyone is welcome. Participants may help raise money by registering for the 2k.

All funds raised will help support the San Diego Adaptive Sports Foundation and HeadNorth in their commitment to improving the quality of life and independence for people living with physical disabilities. The San Diego Adaptive Sports Foundation is a private, nonprofit corporation whose goal is provide sports and recreation to children and adults with disabilities. Sports have the ability to improve not just physical strength but morale and spirit for all those involved.
