Scott White On The Move

Published

After ten years in Little Italy, Scott White Contemporary Art is relocating to Girard Avenue in La Jolla. The debut of the new gallery will be celebrated with an opening fête on November 19, from 6-8pm, featuring paintings by world-renowned fine artist Ross Bleckner. Famous for both his contributions to the art world and his humanitarian efforts, Bleckner’s paintings are featured in New York’s Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art, L.A.’s Museum of Contemporary Art, and more. In 1995, Bleckner was the youngest artist to ever receive a solo retrospective at the Guggenheim and in 2009 he was the first fine artist to be awarded the title of Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations. Proceeds from the sales of his work during his San Diego show will benefit Invisible Children, a movement seeking to end the conflict in Uganda and stop the abduction of children for use as child soldiers.
