Junior Aquathon

Published

On Sunday, May 8, kids ages 6-16 are invited to participate in the second annual Junior Aquathon event, which is a pool swim transitioning to a track run at Cathedral Catholic. Kids ages 2-5 are also invited to participate in a free “tot trot” at noon. Event co-hosts are Rachel Challis, a professional triathlete from New Zealand, and Beth Saunders, a nationally-ranked Masters swimmer and coach, who aim to build self esteem in kids and encourage healthy activities with a goal in mind. All participants will receive a medal and goodie bags with T-shirts, a swim cap, certificate, and other great items from local sponsors. There will be four different race lengths to choose from, from sprint to longer distance. Kids should be able to swim at least two lengths of the pool and run once around the track, which is 0.6 miles. (www.trainingtransition.com)   MASON RICHEY
