The High Life

Published

Seventeen-year-old Cody Johnson credits his passion for downhill mountain biking with keeping him on track — and off drugs. The Mira Costa College freshman is profiled in a video that took top prize in the national Natural High PSA Contest sponsored by the La Jolla-based Sundt Memorial Foundation. Canyon Crest Academy juniors Kia Zomorrodi and Tyler Wait tailed Johnson on rugged trails in Carmel Valley to shoot the film, a project in Mark Raines’ advanced film class. Their PSA sends a simple but powerful message. Says Zomorrodi: “You don’t need drugs to get high.” Click here to view their winning video.   ALEXANDRA ALLEN
