Carlsbad Chamber Job Fair & Business Expo

Published

The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce is putting North County back to work and showcasing the region’s best businesses by hosting a Job Fair & Business Expo on November 12 from 10am-5pm. The event will take place in the old Robinson’s May building at Westfield Plaza Camino Real in Carlsbad. Admission is free. “The fair will feature dozens of employers who are actively hiring,” notes Toni Padron, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Carlsbad Chamber. “We’re doing this event so people who have been laid off and are in transition can find out what their options are.”

The regional job fair will include employers from throughout North County. Career services, including interview techniques and resume reviews, will be offered. The expo, which is back by popular demand and now indoors, provides the public with the opportunity to meet face-to-face with the companies that provide products and services in their community. Some of the mall’s food vendors will offer free samples at the event. Past expos have attracted more than 100 exhibitors from a wide variety of industries and drawn more than 1,000 attendees from throughout the county.

E-World Recyclers will be on-site collecting electronic waste (computers, televisions, fax machines, copiers, cameras, MP3 players, stereo systems) for free recycling. The Vista-based company also will collect used cell phones for the chamber to donate to a local nonprofit organization.

The exhibitor price for Carlsbad Chamber members is $350. The non-member price is $495. Electricity is an additional $50. (760/931-8400, www.carlsbad.org)
