The S.D. Chapter of the Achievement Rewards for College Scientists Foundation needs help in honoring former Rancho Santa Fe resident, the late Wally Schirra, with a perpetual scholarship endowment fund for San Diego college science scholars. “Science and technology are vital to the economic growth and national security in America, and we are no longer producing enough qualified engineering graduates to keep up with the demand,” says co-chair Toni Nickell. To retain American leadership in science and engineering, the organization seeks to raise funds to complete a $150,000 endowed aerospace engineering scholarship.
