Chef Dan Moody presents Relate, San Diego’s first “pop-up” restaurant. For a limited time only — February 3-26 (make your reservations now!) — Relate will take over Bistro St. Germain’s in Encinitas, a breakfast and lunch favorite. After lunch, the restaurant will undergo a complete transformation — new art on the walls, table settings, music — to offer fine dining dinner service. “Relate will offer an exciting new dining experience for anyone who loves good food and good company — and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join the culinary community in San Diego,” notes Moody, who hails from S.D. and received his formal training from the world-class master chefs at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, New York, and informal training while working at L’Orangerie, a five-star French restaurant in L.A. Moody gained additional extensive experience as sous chef at L.A.’s LudoBites, a renowned pop-up concept by chef Ludo Lefebvre, recently named one of the World’s 50 Greatest Chefs by Relais & Chateaux. At Relate, enjoy a frequently changing prix fixe menu (around $50 per person) featuring the finest fresh and seasonal offerings, prepared to showcase, enhance, and complement the natural flavor of the original ingredients. Wine and craft beer pairings will be available as well. (858/367-3709, www.relaterestaurant.com) JANE SHIOMI
