The San Diego Humane Society and SPCA presents its second annual Valentine’s Day-themed animal adoption promotion, My Furry Valentine, to help raise awareness and find homes for more animals. Through February 14, all animal adoption fees are reduced to $14. “By utilizing this unique promotion, we hope to bring more awareness to the importance of animal adoption and ultimately help more animals find loving homes,” notes the organization’s Kelli Herwehe. “Potential adopters must still complete the screening process and meet with an adoption counselor to ensure the animal is the right match for your family. It’s a great time to find an animal to love this Valentine’s Day.” The reduced adoption fee includes microchipping, spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a veterinary exam.
Serving San Diego County since 1880, the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA’s scope of social responsibility goes beyond adopting animals. The Humane Society offers a wide range of programs and services that strengthen the human-animal bond, prevent cruelty and neglect, provide medical care, and educate the community on the humane treatment of animals. One of San Diego’s oldest nonprofit organizations, the Humane Society has campuses in both San Diego and Oceanside and is supported solely through contributions, grants, bequests, investments, proceeds from the Muttique retail store, and small fees for services.
