A sold-out crowd came together to enjoy a spring fashion preview luncheon at Flavor Del Mar atop Del Mar Plaza in support of the Challenged Athletes Foundation’s Operation Rebound, a premier sports and fitness program for American military personnel, veterans, and first responders with permanent physical disabilities.
Attendees celebrated the season and savored panoramic ocean views while enjoying a delectable menu specially created for the occasion by Flavor Del Mar’s executive chef Brian Redzikowski. Informal modeling highlighted fashions from Del Mar Plaza boutiques including Peaches en Regalia, White House | Black Market, Chico’s, Sunglass Hut, and Saratoga Saddlery, with jewelry & watches from Loghman Jewelers, and hair & makeup styling by Haim Salon. The opportunity drawing featured fabulous prizes from fashion show participants, as well as Smashburger, Shimbashi Izakaya, Del Mar Rendezvous, Seewald Galleries, Flavor Del Mar, and Pacifica Del Mar.
Guests had the opportunity to meet Nico Marcolongo, program director of the Challenged Athletes Foundation’s Operation Rebound, along with Lance Weir, recruited by CAF Operation Rebound in 2011 to participate in the Marine Corps Warrior Games Trials at Camp Pendleton. At the trials this past February, Weir made the Marine Corps Warrior Games team in air rifle. At the Warrior Games, Weir then went on to earn a gold and silver medal, and is now pursuing a spot on the U.S. Paralympic Air Rifle team.
