Nearly 300 guests gathered for the sixth Sounds of Hope for Children concert featuring Chaka Khan, the legendary winner of ten Grammy Awards, along with music legends Anita Ward, Evelyn “Champagne” King, and Gloria Gaynor, presented by Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary’s Carmel Valley Unit to benefit The Chadwick Center for Children and Families at Rady Children’s Hospital. Hospital president Kathleen Sellick and Cynthia Kuelbs, medical director of the hospital’s Chadwick Center for Children and Families, delivered poignant remarks and shared a brief video outlining the crucial work The Chadwick Center undertakes to treat and support young people and families who have been subjected to abuse, neglect, and trauma. “We are overwhelmed by the incredible generosity of our guests, and the compassion their donations demonstrate for the important work that goes on at The Chadwick Center for Children and Families,” says event chair Edith Smith.
