Congregation Beth Israel celebrated its 150th anniversary by creating a new Torah scroll, hosting a Jewish scholars speaker series, and sponsoring an elegant dinner and performance by Mandy Patinkin. Beth Israel’s roots date to 1861 when a small group of Jewish pioneers led by merchant Marcus Schiller formed the Assembly of Israel.
