The 81st Annual Candlelight Ball raised $2 million to benefit lifesaving care at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla with generous support from philanthropist and newspaper heiress Betty Knight Scripps. At The Grand Del Mar, U.S. Congressman John Shadegg recognized Scripps for her generous charitable contributions with a proclamation entered into the Congressional Record.
