HWAC’s annual Humane Award was recently presented to actress and animal lover Kristen Bell; the Humane Honoree award was given to Pam Perez, who helped transport the first pets to safety after Hurricane Katrina; and the first-ever Deora Bodley Junior Volunteer Award was presented to Connie Chen in honor of a local teenager who died on Flight 93 on 9/11.
