The Board of Trustees of the Zoological Society of San Diego and the R.I.T.Z. committee presented the 27th annual gala on June 19. Titled A Night In Paradise, this year’s Rendezvous In The Zoo featured Joan Embery and animal friends, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, dinner, and dancing. Proceeds benefited the San Diego Zoo’s tropical conservation programs in Hawaii and the Caribbean. Event co-chairs were Jesse Knight and Joye Blount.
