Aquatic Adventures will celebrate its tenth anniversary with Bubble Up!, a black tie gala featuring dining, entertainment, and live and silent auctions at Birch Aquarium on October 3, from 6:30-10pm. The event not only provides critical support for its programs and students, but also serves as a celebration to recognize that Aquatic Adventures has been transforming young lives through science for over a decade. “As we commemorate our tenth year, we are thrilled to share our exciting plans for growth and change including our new name, Ocean Discovery Institute, which will better demonstrate the organization’s vision and long-term commitment to improving our region,” notes founder and executive director Shara Fisler. “The funds generated at Bubble Up! will open doors for more than 4,000 local youth to gain knowledge and understanding of the sciences and nature and prepare these young people to become our future scientific and environmental leaders.” Attendees will enjoy a spectacular dining experience with views of the sparkling Pacific as their backdrop. This exclusive event includes student-led tours of the aquarium’s marine life, elaborate silent and live auctions, and an evening program hosted by Bill Menish and Betty Hua, an Aquatic Adventures student. Proceeds will fund tuition-free programs that aim to engage, educate, and inspire youth from urban and diverse backgrounds through science-based exploration of the ocean and nature, preparing them to be tomorrow’s scientific and environmental leaders.
