On Saturday September 19, from 10am–3pm, A New PATH (Parents for Addiction Treatment and Healing) presents the fifth annual Strut for Sobriety luncheon, Path to Recovery awards ceremony, and fashion show at the Westin Gaslamp Quarter. This unique event, co-chaired by Connie Conard and Colleen Ruis Jackson, will feature a silent auction and boutique, followed by a luncheon, awards ceremony, entertainment, and fashion show. The celebrity honorary chair is radio producer Little Tommy Sablan, and Susie Spanos will serve as honorary chair. Carol LeBeau and Geni Cavitt will serve as the celebrity emcees, and radio personality Joe Bauer is the auctioneer. At the event, individuals will be honored for their efforts to reduce the stigma of drug addiction and for their contributions to ending discrimination against those who seek treatment and recovery from substance abuse. 2009 Path to Recovery honorees are: Assembly Member Jim Beall, Jr., 24th District; Bettie Rheinhardt, NAMI San Diego; and Dr. Barbara Mason and Dr. George Koob of Scripps Research Insitute. An entertaining fashion show, produced by Gretchen Productions will feature fashions from Macy’s Horton Plaza, worn by both professional models as well as guest models in recovery.
