On August 20, from 6-9pm, the first annual Tables for Tots will bring together a creative collection of original children’s table designs to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. Decked out in various motifs, 35 children’s tables and chairs will be on display and up for bid on eBay. They will be judged by a panel of local celebrities for awards in five categories including Go Green, Best Thematic Design, Best Interactive Design, Best Educational Design, Best Character Design, and a Grand Prize chosen from all categories. Table judges include Money in the Morning radio personality and financial reporter George Chamberlain, San Diego Union-Tribune columnist Diane Bell, San Diego Family Magazine editor Sharon Bay, San Diego Museum of art docent Pamela Palisoul, KPBS director Keith York, and director of the New Children’s Museum Jessica Hanson York. Ronald McDonald will serve as Emcee for the evening’s auction that will include free appetizers and beverages.
