La Jolla Music Society’s WinterFest Gala 2012: Cabaret with Ute Lemper and The Vogler Quartet takes place on Friday, March 30, at Anthology. WinterFest 2012 begins with a Champagne and hors d’oeuvres reception, followed by an elegant dinner prepared by Anthology’s executive chef Todd Allison. The evening will feature a sultry performance with Ute Lemper featuring works by Édith Piaf, Piazzolla, Kurt Weill, and Jacques Brel with The Vogler Quartet. Her panache, versatility, and sophisticated repertoire — including Berlin cabaret songs and the dark gems of Bertolt Brecht — have led her to international acclaim as a recording artist, and in the theatre, cabaret, and film worlds. A live auction will be held during dinner. The auction will feature fabulous vacations to Berlin and Paris, including cultural experiences, luxury accommodations, and five-star dining.
