The fourth annual Petco Foundation Hope Gala will take place on Saturday, March 10, at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina. The event will be emceed by San Diego’s KFMB Channel 8 anchors Dan Cohen and Nichelle Medina, and will feature a black tie-optional cocktail reception, dinner, dancing, entertainment, opportunity drawing, and silent auction. Each year, the Petco Foundation gala recognizes one or more people who share the foundation’s mission to improve the quality of life for animals and the people who love and need them. This year’s Hope Award, which celebrates the spirit of hope through a life dedicated to promoting the human bond, will be presented to the legendary Betty White, one of the first entertainers to use her fame to showcase the important role animals play in our lives and the need to protect and care for them. White notes, “I am flattered to be the 2012 honoree of the Petco Foundation Hope Award and equally pleased that the monies raised from the Hope Gala will benefit Actors and Others for Animals — an organization with a very special place in my heart.” Gala tickets start at $300 each.
