The community has rallied around San Marcos resident Sharlie Kaltenbach to host a family-friendly fundraiser on Saturday, November 5, at the Bertha residence in Olivenhain. Thirty-two-year-old Kaltenbach, a vibrant wife and mother, was born with cystic fibrosis and is currently on the donor waiting list at Stanford for a double lung and heart transplant as her last chance at survival. The event will reflect Kaltenbach’s love and optimism. Expect silent and live auctions, food, live music, and a video message from San Diego rock band Switchfoot. Lifelong friend Jessica Erickson notes, “We’re all working together to ensure that over the next few months, her family can concentrate on health and recovery instead of medical bills.” Event proceeds will benefit Sharlie’s Angels Medical Fund. Tickets are $20; children are free. (www.fillinglungswithlove.com)
