On Friday, April 30, Team Joey presents the inaugural Steps to the Sea Golf Tournament to support the recovery of lifelong Encinitas resident Joey Abicca, who one year ago sustained a spinal cord injury that rendered him paralyzed from the waist down. Abicca has been in intensive, exercise-based therapy at Project Walk in Carlsbad and is making slow but incredible progress. To help Abicca stay on his path to recovery, the golf tournament will be held at The Crossings at Carlsbad with all proceeds going to Joey’s NTAF Southwest Spinal Cord Injury Fund.
