Ghana Africa International Operations (GAIO) presents its Artistic & Cultural Affair on Thursday February 25, at 6:30pm, at Fixtures. Guests will enjoy live music by the award-winning Ghanaian musician Selasee, a fashion show, wine tasting, international appetizers, Ghanaian Chocolate, an auction of original photographs of the children of Akwatia, and an appearance by special guest Chief Akwatiahene from Ghana. GAIO was founded by local resident Jacqueline Prairie, who envisioned building a communication center in Africa to help provide a future for the forgotten children. The Akwatia Project goal is to create a center that not only will have ten computer stations and separate learning sections for children and adults, but will also serve the community by hosting job skills and health workshops. “GAIO is not only building an important center for learning, we are providing jobs now and training for future employment,” notes Prairie.
