Kids Korps USA presents its annual Super Star Gala on Saturday, April 28, at Del Mar Country Club. Titled “A Night At The Royal Ascot” and chaired by Christena Ferran and Marlene Holmquist, the event will pay tribute to British sporting heritage and tradition, and is inspired by the elegance, mystique, competition, and style of the Royal Ascot. Guests are invited to peruse the silent auction tables and “place their bets” while viewing recorded horse races shown on large screens. Live auction items include a coveted two-night stay in a three-bedroom villa with 24-hour butler service at The Resort at Pelican Hill. The evening also promises delectable cuisine, and dancing to the eclectic music of Barry Minniefield. This year’s Super Star Gala Leadership awardees include Rancho Santa Fe School, the Bobileff family, the Lichtenberger family, and the Scafidi family. Proceeds will go directly to help fund Kids Korps USA, a nonprofit organization that engages youth ages 5-25 and their families in hands on volunteer service, addressing the needs of more than 350 organizations in our community.
