The Paul Ecke, Jr. Poinsettia Ball returns for the 21st year on Saturday, December 10. Since its inception, the event has raised millions of dollars to build YMCA facilities, support enriching programming, and now fund the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA’s financial assistance and scholarship programs. This year’s gala will celebrate the holiday season with a Very Merry Masquerade theme. “The opportunity to give back to those who are financially struggling in this economy, especially the children, is why we are here,” says Sheila Wirick, committee chair. “Adding the masquerade theme is going to put the event over the top.” The event will be emceed by KFMB’s Barbara-Lee Edwards and will feature fine dining, silent and live auctions, and musical entertainment by Wayne Foster Entertainment.
