Embrace will team up with elected officials, volunteers, and community members to host its 3rd Annual Embrace the Streets. On Saturday, November 12, from 12-2pm, hundreds of homeless civilians and veterans living on the streets of downtown, or in temporary housing, will receive blankets, clothing, and food from college volunteers on the corners of 15th & Island and 16th & Island. The San Diego Food Bank will donate food to be prepared by chefs from Sushi On A Roll, Epic Catering, Yokoz, Epicure, and Indulge. Councilmember Todd Gloria will present Embrace with a resolution and will join California Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher to work with the students in serving all who attend. (www.embrace1.org)
