Home of Guiding Hands’ 37th annual gala, themed “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” will take place aboard the Inspiration Hornblower on Saturday, June 25, and event coordinator Rachel Wood hopes to raise more than $100,000 to benefit the almost 500 San Diegans supported by the nonprofit agency annually. Guests will be greeted with a glass of Champagne and treated like kings and queens to a fabulous three-course dinner. HGH will honor several individuals and community partners for their years of dedication and support to HGH, its residents, families, and the community. This year’s guest of honor is Lauren Potter, who plays cheerleader Becky Jackson on Fox’s Emmy Award-winning hit show Glee and was born with Down’s syndrome. The California native recently testified before a special Congressional briefing to speak out against the bullying of children with special needs. For more than 40 years, HGH has provided quality services, training, and advocacy for people with developmental disabilities and their families. For more information please contact Wood.
