On Thursday, April 21, from 6-9pm, Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute presents its unique, outrageous fundraiser at the Del Mar Fairgrounds Activity Center. Bring It! is a game show-themed experience filled with wacky trivia and fearless displays of hidden talent. This year’s theme is “Rock on for Stem Cell Research,” ensuring music and mayhem for a fantastic cause. Sanford-Burnham, a nonprofit research institute, will again partner with Head North, an organization supporting spinal cord injury survivors.
Stath and Terry Karras will chair the event, which opens with a VIP red carpet reception, featuring gourmet food and cocktails. Participants will be seated in teams of ten, and can arrange a team in advance or buy tickets individually. Every guest in attendance will be placed on a team and be part of the action.
There is hope that spinal cord injuries could one day be treated with a relatively simple surgical procedure that will regenerate nerve cells, improving motor skills or even reversing paralysis. Participating in Bring It! will help physician-scientists in San Diego carry out research that will make such a procedure possible. Tickets start at $275.
