On Sunday, October 10, from 5:30-10:30pm, a benefit to save the rainforest takes place at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach. Enjoy free salsa lessons with Combo Libertad, Costa Rican cuisine, a no host bar, silent auction, and guest speakers. The O2 For Life Rainforest Foundation protects more than 500 acres of land located in the Osa region of Costa Rica. “Last year we raised enough money to purchase trail cameras that were installed last November in areas where animal activity was suspected and now we have photographic evidence of the presence of some of the more elusive dwellers of the O2 reserve like squirrel monkeys, jaguars, and peccaries,” notes Steve Blumkin, founder of O2 For Life and owner of Outrageous Rugs on Miramar Road.
