On Thursday, June 17, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the Father’s Day Council of San Diego will honor five recipients at the 2010 Father of the Year Awards Dinner at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. This year’s honorees are: Craig Dado, VP of marketing of Del Mar Thoroughbred Club; Joseph Panetta, president and CEO of Biocom; Dean Spanos, president and CEO of the San Diego Chargers; Bill Strauss, CEO of Provide Commerce; and Thomas W. Turner, Jr., managing partner of Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch. Family, friends, and an expected 500 members of the community will be in attendance. All proceeds from the dinner will support ADA and its mission to prevent and cure diabetes, and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. The fathers were selected based on their ability to balance their personal and professional lives, and to serve as role models for their children, while making a positive difference in their communities.
