The American Heart Association’s 2010 Heart Beach Ball will take place on the pristine and sandy shores of the Hotel del Coronado on Saturday, June 12, from 5:30-10pm. That’s right — on the beach. The Island Steel drum band, Kaleo ‘Onalani Polynesian dancers, and dinner music by Ron’s Garage will provide attendees with a festive beach party atmosphere as they celebrate the medical events that never occur due to better education and understanding of risk factors that can lead to heart attack or stroke. The evening will conclude with dancing and s’mores around the fire pits.
Event co-chairs Evva and Michael Fenison of Pure Financial Advisors will host the event, with KFMB’s Barbara-Lee Edwards and auctioneer Bill Menish joining in to support this highly-anticipated evening. The American Heart Association will honor five San Diego cardiologists: David Ostrander, Walter Dembitsky, Robert Gillespie, Dennis Leahy, and Kirk Knowlton.
Funds raised will help fund the research that allows us to better understand what causes heart disease and stroke, as well as ways to diagnose, treat, and prevent them. Research funded by the American Heart Association has yielded numerous discoveries, including CPR, life-extending drugs, pacemakers, bypass surgery, and surgical techniques to repair heart defects.
Pure Financial Advisors is the presenting “Tidal Wave” sponsor of the 2010 Heart Beach Ball. For every new planning client recruited through June 30, Pure Financial will donate a minimum of $100 and up to $500 to the American Heart Association’s 2010 Heart Beach Ball, for a minimum donation of $30,000.
