On June 5, from 7-11pm, Sushi Contemporary Performance and Visual Arts exposes the quirky and the fun to San Diego during its annual Red Ball fundraiser celebrating its 30th anniversary. Guests will experience a walking visual timeline as the contemporary art organization caps a season of internationally acclaimed performance, dance, theatre, and art. In addition to a slate of artists including Animal Cracker Conspiracy, Little Known Dance, a Bit 'O Burlesque, and more performing throughout the night, Margaret Noble will fill the event with her own original soundscapes designed exclusively for Red Ball as party-goers are sent back and forth in time through a series of photos, videos, and quotes provided by Sushi’s fans, artists, and supporters. Party-goers will sip on cocktails, engage with roaming performers, bid on an exciting collection of silent auction items including original art by Stephen Chalmers, Oscar Prinsen, Ray Caeser, and many others, and indulge in top cuisine from noted San Diego restaurants including Avenue 5, Urban Solace, Quality Social, Proper Pub, Suite & Tender, and more. Tickets are $60 for singles and $110 for couples. Festive attire is recommended, with particular emphasis on red. (619/235-8466, www.sushiart.org)
