On Sunday, May 23, from 10am-5pm, the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce presents A Sporting Life to educate and celebrate health and wellness through sports and nutrition for the youth and families of North County. Taking place on the fields at Oak Crest Middle School, the event will feature hair-raising tricks and routines by legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk and many other action sports athletes, plus appearances by world-renowned athletes Willie Banks, Linda Benson, Kurt Bevacqua, and Mitch Gaylord, to name but a few. Enjoy vendor booths, food, and fun for the entire family including basketball free-throw contests, climbing walls, volleyball serves, face painting, clowns, and more. There will also be live music performances by The New Archaic, Stripes and Lines, and Eve Selis. Proceeds will benefit Fresh Start Surgical Gifts, Rancho Coastal Humane Society, and STAR/PAL. Tickets can be purchased at the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce, and are $10 for adults and youth, $8 for military and seniors, and free for children under five.
