The 29th annual Celebrity Chefs Cook gala benefiting the Moores UCSD Cancer Center takes place on May 15 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina. The evening will feature a “Celebrity Chefs” reception that will showcase local and out-of-town chefs including William Bradley of Addison at The Grand Del Mar, Jean Michel Diot of Tapenade, Bernard Guillas of the Marine Room, and many others. Each chef’s creation will be paired with fine wines from around the world. Guests will then move to the ballroom for an evening emceed by Channel 10’s Bill Griffith that includes dinner created by Sheraton executive chef Steve Black, and dancing to the tunes of NRG. An inaugural Spirit Award will be given to the Gildred family, Anne and the late Bill Otterson, and John Mendelsohn, MD, who have exuded the spirit that continues to encourage and inspire the pursuit of excellence in patient care and research within the cancer center.
