On Saturday, March 13, beginning at 12pm, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation will host its annual nationwide shave-a-thon at Basic Urban Kitchen + Bar in downtown’s East Village. Supporters are invited to shave their heads to generate awareness and help raise funds for childhood cancer research. An entry fee of $10 at the door includes free pizza, and beer and cocktail specials; a $20 entry fee includes free pizza, beer and cocktail specials, a T-shirt, and raffle ticket. Since its inception ten years ago, St. Baldrick’s events have raised over $69 million for childhood cancer research, with over 108,000 shavees at over 2,500 head-shavings in 50 states and 24 countries.
