Nineteen-month-old Jonathan Nessen was born with kidney disease. But thanks to Rady Children’s Hospital, he received regular dialysis treatments that eventually made him strong enough for a successful kidney transplant. Nessen is just one of many children who has received life-sustaining treatment at the hospital’s Pediatric Chronic Dialysis Department. To raise funds for that department, the Del Mar Unit of Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary presents The Stage is Set for Something Special on Saturday, February 6, from 6-10pm at Anthology. The event includes dinner and dancing, music by The Mighty Untouchables, and a live auction with Bill Menish. Sheryl Seltser is event chair. (760/815-6410, www.rchadelmar.org) Andrea Naversen
