The award-winning kitchen designers at Arclinea San Diego will hold the studio’s inaugural holiday charitable program from December 10-12 to benefit Second Chance. The 2009 Gingerbread Collective is a three-day competition hosted in the company’s downtown showroom featuring a public showcase of gingerbread houses designed and built by leading San Diego architects, designers, and cultural leaders. The public is invited to view and vote for their favorite design in-person and online. On its closing night, December 12, the program will end with a cocktail party and silent auction of the gingerbread houses with 100 percent of the proceeds being donated to the Food Pantry and Holiday Meals program at Second Chance. The three days of holiday festivities will also be accompanied by a canned food and donation drive. (619/564-7440, www.arclineasandiego.com) JANE SHIOMI
