On October 22, Barra Barra Saloon in Old Town is hosting an elegant five-course dinner with tequila pairings for each course from 6-8pm. Sponsored by Proximo Spirits, each course will be paired with a Gran Centenario Tequila, renowned for the unique process in which it is made by blending newly rested tequilas with the smoothest aged tequila reserves, creating the highest quality and best tasting tequila available. The first course starts with an avocado and crab gazpacho paired with a “La Dama Martini” made with Rose Angel tequila, Cointreau, lime, and a splash of cranberry. The second and third courses will feature bay shrimp and watermelon salad with Plata tequila and lamb birria rolled tacos paired with Repezado tequila. This is followed by the main course of a cacahuate-crusted, pan-fried grouper with cumin olive tapenade and cilantro rice paired with Anejo tequlia. Dessert is a vanilla bean flan paird with the bold oak, vanilla, and butterscotch notes of a Maestro Dobel tequila. Tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple.
