San Diegans will enjoy the city’s finest bounty of food and drinks during the 9th Annual Harvest Festival at The Prado at Balboa Park on Thursday, October 15, from 5-9pm, with a portion of proceeds set to benefit Meals-on-Wheels of Greater San Diego.
Set in beautiful Balboa Park amongst the warm colors of fall, guests will experience a celebration of food featuring gourmet cuisine from The Prado’s executive chef Jeff Thurston and certified master pastry chef Francesco Santoro. Enhancing the culinary offerings will be tastings of more than 50 wines from regional vineyards, meet-and-greets with local wine makers, samples of exotic spirits and local beers, and live cocktail demonstrations.
The Harvest Festival’s first-ever Chef Grill-Off takes place at Balboa Park’s lower garden terraces. The exclusive list of competing chefs includes: Kensington Grill’s Hanis Cavin, Martini Media’s Melissa Mayer, and Top Chef Season 5 contestant Rich Sweeney.
This year’s Harvest Festival adds new offerings:
• 1st Annual Chef Grill-Off
• San Diego’s Best Local Brews
• Spirits Room
• Sweet Tooth-Satisfying Desserts
Tickets are $59.95 per person in advance, or 69.95 at the door. (619/557-9441, ext. 203, www.cohnrestaurants.com/restaurants/theprado, www.meals-on-wheels.org)
