Mama’s Day 2012 takes place on May 11 from 5:30-9:30pm at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla. The fundraising event, held the Friday before Mother’s Day, features more than 55 chefs from San Diego’s finest restaurants who prepare delicious samples for nearly 700 attendees. Heather K. Bowden is this year’s event chairperson and Sam “The Cooking Guy” Zien returns as the culinary host. Proceeds allow Mama’s Kitchen to cook and deliver hot, nutrition-specific meals free of charge to men, women, and children affected by AIDS or cancer throughout San Diego County.
