San Diego History Center (SDHC) presents its third annual Taste of San Diego Craft Brews fundraiser on Saturday, February 18, from 6-10pm. The event honors the people and the award-winning beers that have made history and earned San Diego the title of “America’s Craft Brew Capital.” Proceeds support SDHC’s continuing K-12 educational outreach efforts.

Local attorney, SDHC board member, and Taste of San Diego Craft Brews event chair, Virginia Morrison, says “K-12 education has suffered severe budget cuts in San Diego this past year and this event helps SDHC supplement history education outreach in our schools. It’s desperately needed now more than ever, and with this unique beer-food pairing fundraiser, SDHC and the brewing community are doing their part.”

Taste of San Diego Craft Brews is an intimate, beer-food pairing event showcasing the local beers and brewers who have won medals at prestigious competitions such as the Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup. The beers will be expertly paired with food vendors and gastropubs, and attendees will learn about notable milestones in San Diego’s craft beer history and see historic photographs documenting the region’s rich brewing past.

Breweries pouring for the event include: Karl Strauss; Rock Bottom, La Jolla; Stone; Ballast Point; AleSmith; Port Brewing/Lost Abbey; and Rock Bottom, Downtown.

Ticket sales are limited to 250, and are available for $39 per person or $65 per VIP ticket. (619/232-6203, ext. 102, www.sandiegohistory.org/tasteofsandiego)
