Rancho Bernardo Inn presents its third annual Beer vs. Wine Dinner on October 16. Executive chef Judd Canepari will prepare a five-course dinner, and each course will be paired with both a wine and a beer. Guests will then vote on which pairs better. The beers will be selected by Stone Brewing Company CEO Greg Koch, and the wines will be selected by sommelier Barry Wiss. Rancho Bernardo Inn’s own sommelier, Eric Brehm, will emcee. This year’s event will be the ultimate showdown since beer won the first year and wine won the second. Tickets are $125 per person.
In addition, this year, Rancho Bernardo Inn will offer guests a special overnight package starting at $299 (for two) inclusive of overnight accommodations and two tickets to the Beer vs. Wine Dinner. (858/675-8550, www.ranchobernardoinn.com)
