Now in its fifth year, the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival has grown into Southern California’s largest luxury wine and culinary experience attracting just over 8,000 wine and food enthusiasts. “Throughout the week-long event, we bring together over 160 world-class wineries, national celebrities, and chefs such as Ted Allen, chef Gavin Kaysen, artist Thomas Arvid, Sam the Cooking Guy, master sommelier Joseph Spellman, and featured artist Christopher M.,” says festival producer and owner Michelle Metter. “A spotlight is put on 60 of San Diego’s top fine dining chefs in our Grand Tasting on November 15 as they compete for just over $50,000 in cash and prizes in our Chef of the Fest competition.” In total, over 800 different wines will be poured throughout the entire week. Guests are encouraged to take advantage of the wide array of events to allow them the full festival experience. (619/342-7337, www.worldofwineevents.com) MARIA DESIDERATA MONTANA
