Mama’s Day: A Mosaic of Taste returns to the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine on Friday, May 6, from 6:30-9:30pm. An extraordinary culinary evening featuring more than 55 of San Diego’s premier chefs and restaurants, Mama’s Day is a major source of funding for Mama’s Kitchen. The region’s finest restaurants, hotels, wineries and catering companies will graciously prepare delicious samples for nearly 700 attendees. Sam “the Cooking Guy” Zien is the culinary host for the evening and Vic Salazar will serve as emcee. Event proceeds enable Mama’s Kitchen to cook and deliver hot, nutrition-specific meals free of charge to men, women, and children affected by AIDS or cancer throughout San Diego County. Mama’s Kitchen served nearly 325,000 meals and had a total of 4,849 Mama’s Pantry visits in 2010. Tickets are $125 per person in advance, or $150 at the door.
